Challenge
Define Creative was commissioned by The National Stud to create a short, heartfelt video featuring one of the most celebrated jockeys in British racing, Hollie Doyle, alongside Group 1-winning horse Bradsell. The brief was open – but expectations were high. With only 15 minutes to shoot, we delivered a film that captured the emotional connection between horse and rider with warmth, authenticity, and cinematic craft.
Solution
We embraced a stripped-back, documentary-style approach – shooting handheld on a Zeiss Batis 40mm to create closeness and visual softness. The final piece was shaped around natural, unscripted moments: Hollie speaking candidly beside Bradsell, subtle gestures of affection, and a calm, observational tone. The final video felt personal and timeless, a departure from traditional equine media, and was warmly received by the National Stud team.
