Challenge

Define Creative was commissioned by The National Stud to create a short, heartfelt video featuring one of the most celebrated jockeys in British racing, Hollie Doyle, alongside Group 1-winning horse Bradsell. The brief was open – but expectations were high. With only 15 minutes to shoot, we delivered a film that captured the emotional connection between horse and rider with warmth, authenticity, and cinematic craft.

Solution

We embraced a stripped-back, documentary-style approach – shooting handheld on a Zeiss Batis 40mm to create closeness and visual softness. The final piece was shaped around natural, unscripted moments: Hollie speaking candidly beside Bradsell, subtle gestures of affection, and a calm, observational tone. The final video felt personal and timeless, a departure from traditional equine media, and was warmly received by the National Stud team.

“This project had an extremely quick turn around and the efficiency and professionalism from Define Creative made it possible. The team’s creativity resulted an authentic and unique piece that captured our vision perfectly.”
